United Methodist Elder Care is a not-for-profit continuing care community serving low to low-moderate income seniors. UMEC is incorporated as a 501(c)(3), and is mostly funded by state and federal dollars. 206 elder persons of modest to meager means live in Winslow Gardens and Linn Health Care Center. 365 days a year, we work to ameliorate or eliminate the factors that lead to Tea & Toast Syndrome - with planned nutritious meals, attractive presentation, courteous and concerned staff, cheery dining rooms, financial subsidies, medical monitoring, and a veritable TON of fun times to experience and share, The strong intimate ties we enjoy, withing this caring community, may be the single most powerful antidote to Tea & Toast Syndrome.

The proceeds from this event will supplement the residents and help to underwrite the gap between the state/federal reimbursement rate and the actual costs of care and support residents of Winslow Gardens and Linn Health Care Center. Contributions to United Methodist Elder Care are completely tax-deductible.
