Frequently Asked Questions

Are pets allowed? Are there size and type of pet limits?
We accept common household pets such as cats, dogs, small fish and birds with a pet deposit. Please contact us for additional guidelines and restrictions at rsc@umeldercareri.org.

Do you accept couples?
We have units available to accommodate more than 1 person living arrangements.

Can I transition from independent living to assisted living?
When the need arises, we can easily transition residents into assisted living.

Do I have to be Methodist?
No. We are a (HUD) equal opportunity housing provider. We do not discriminate against any race, religion or gender.

Do you have transportation?
We have transportation services available for medical appointments at the request of the resident. There is a minimal fee for this service.

If I require long term care, can I return to my assisted living apartment?
If you should be hospitalized, or require long term care, you may return to your home with medical clearance from your physician.

What are financial qualifications?
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has established guidelines for age and income for all applicants to be considered.

They are as follows:

  • Individual must be 62 years of age or over
  • Individual household income must not exceed $41,000.00
  • Double occupancy household income must not exceed $46,850.00

NOTE: Income guidelines change yearly and are dictated by The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
